One Language
“For at that time I will change the speech (language/declaration) of the people to a pure speech, that all of them may call upon the name of the Lord and serve Him with ONE accord!”
Have you ever visited a foreign country or even a city in your own country and needed information, but were unable to ask because you don’t speak the same language? The barrier keeps us from being able to receive what we need to get to where we are going. Am I right? Because we are not speaking the same language, we have to wander around in hopes of reaching our destination in a safe and timely manner. Many times, we give up and just return to the comforts of those in our own little circle, in turn never arriving at the destination we set out to reach.
This is what I want to touch on today. My last blog was titled “Why Kingdom?” and I explained the importance of getting rid of the religious mindset and stepping into the kingdom mindset. This is so hard for people to understand. My question to God was, “Why on earth is it so hard for people to understand ‘Kingdom’?” and as I prayed and began reading the scripture, I believe He gave me a small glimpse into the answer. This may turn into a series of blogs, but that’s okay. I desire to see the church speaking the same language! Kingdom language! Because when we speak the same language… we will see the unity that God created us to walk in, and in that unity… NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE for Kingdom Citizens!!
Genesis 11 is about the ‘Tower of Babel’. After the flood, Noah’s family was the only family left on this earth, and God gave them the command to be fruitful and multiply, so they did!! It says that the whole earth had ONE language and the people set out to build a tower to reach the heavens. The Lord came down to see the city they were building and the tower they spoke of. This is where I want to go…
Genesis 11:6 God said, “Indeed the people are ONE, and they have ONE LANGUAGE, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. NOTHING they purpose to do will now be impossible for them.”
They did not have pure motives before God, so He ended up confusing their language so would spread throughout the earth instead of building towers to the heavens.
This church is why we are not seeing His WILL (For every nation, every tongue, every single people group to be discipled in the KNOWLEDGE OF HIS KINGDOM!!) done to the fullest capacity on this earth! His Kingdom is here… If you have Jesus Christ dwelling in you, then YOU carry the kingdom, but here’s the deal… we have too many people carrying the kingdom but speaking a different language (living a different culture). This is keeping us from reaching the fullness of the Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. There is only ONE language the entire world could speak and understand, and for the believer, our one language is that of the Kingdom (LOVE, POWER, FREEDOM, REAL!)!
One = certain, collected, UNIFIED!
Language here is the root word Phemi, meaning to make known one’s thoughts, to DECLARE! Language represents CULTURE!
We may never be able to verbally learn another language, but we can ALL learn to live in a different culture through training!
OH MY GOSH, I hope you are seeing this the way it is burning in my spirit right now!
In Zephaniah 3, God is talking about what He plans to do with the rebellious and defiled cities, those who listen to no voice and do not trust fully in Him. He says that He plans to gather nations and assemble kingdoms to pretty much set them straight! Then He goes on to say in vs 9 “For at that time I will change the speech (language/declaration) of the people to a pure speech, that all of them may call upon the name of the Lord and serve Him with ONE accord!”
God desires for the church (HIS ENTIRE BODY) to be unified and of ONE declaration! That declaration is KINGDOM!! The kingdom is the all-encompassing character of Jesus Christ, the agape love of our Father God, and the power of the Holy Spirit!
Every week, many gather together in thousands of different religious church buildings, teaching thousands of different subjects and religious rules while judging the world around them because it is literally going to hell… yet, they think the only way to save them is by gathering in a building, preaching rules, condemnation and ‘every way’ to get a one-way ticket to hell? My gosh, I wouldn’t come through the doors of that building either! Many are speaking a foreign language, and no one can understand the directions!
Church, God did not place us here to judge the world! He created us and placed us on this earth at this specific time to declare KINGDOM truth, and live KINGDOM lives. THIS is what will save the lost world around us! BUT until we ALL (the ENTIRE BODY) understand the same culture and begin to use the same language (declaring HIM and only HIM), we will not be in unity, and we will continue to be just as scattered as those at the tower of babel, never seeing His WILL on this earth as it is in heaven!

Purpose= imagine, consider, desire.
Impossible = withheld or cutoff.
When we become ONE BODY declaring ONE LANGUAGE, LIVING ONE CULTURE… NOTHING we set out to do for His kingdom will be withheld from us! We must come into unity, declaring His truth together if we want to see His culture transform this world!
God has placed so many people in our lives to teach and preach His truths! Ephesians 4 tells us that He has given us apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip the body UNTIL we all attain TO THE UNITY of the faith and of the knowledge of Jesus Christ – through their influence in our lives we will become a mature person, attaining to the measure of Christ's full stature! WE NEED EACH OTHER!! The church needs apostles, prophets, etc., in order to be properly equipped to live Kingdom culture, but the world needs US mature walking in Christ’s full stature… It’s not our ‘preaching’ that will win the lost, it’s the witness we walk in! Our influence (of kingdom and unity) wins them – I promise you, they’ve heard enough condemnation and judgment.
When we flow in kingdom unity, nothing will be impossible! Psalm 133 tells us this: “How good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron (light-bringer), running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon (a sanctuary), flowing down the mountains of Zion (the parched places – the 7 mountains of culture)! For THERE the Lord has commanded the blessings and life forevermore!”
I challenge you today to do a personal study on the character of Jesus Christ (the book of John is great for that), find a church family that lives and breathes the Kingdom of God’s culture, and get into unity with the body of Christ. It’s about the language friends!! We have a kingdom destination to reach, and the body of Christ needs to be teaching the exact same direction so that people aren’t guided even further away from God’s love, power, and freedom!
Father, I humbly come before you today and say, “Change my language, my declaration to Your language, Your declaration. I want to walk as ONE in line with Your kingdom precepts, Your kingdom love, Your kingdom freedom, and power! Holy Spirit, lead me into this newness of life, lead me and cleanse my soul of the old ways of thinking. I know that through You nothing is impossible, so I lay aside my own doubts, and I say YES to You, Your mandate on this earth and Your will in my life! In Jesus name, Amen.
