Weatherford, a place with a purpose, a meaning:
Weather = pressure, testing, seasons, storms
Ford = transition, movement, crossing over
Our city is a place of transition, a place of change from one season to the next.
Our city is a place of movement. People are drawn here because they want something new in life. It’s a place where, as people transition and discover their new, many will cross over into their dream (pioneering)!
Transition, movement, and crossover do not come without pressure, testing, seasons, and storms.
I know it may sound strange talking about a city like this, but every city has a purpose for its planting. It’s called a redemptive gift, or its reason for being. Weatherford is a pioneering city, founded by Pioneers who claimed to be Christians and were ready for new things. Pioneers are people who stand for righteousness and justice. They have a mind to do things correctly and creatively.
Over the last 130 years, we’ve lost sight of the why because many do not realize that cities have a purpose. Just as our Constitution has purpose, yet no one reads it anymore, therefore, we’ve given over our rights and purpose as Americans to a handful of people who have destroyed our beautiful nation over the last 250 years. When America chooses to re-read the Constitution, America will be restored to her original intent. A God-fearing nation, which is the same for Weatherford, when we know our why, we return to it.
We drift when we do not know the why or the purpose of something.
I would like to see Weatherford once again draw in those who carry the pioneering spirit and have a heart for righteousness and justice. I would like to see no crime rate, no more young people being killed, no more drugs, no more identity confusion… It would be amazing to be a city of no divorce and healthy families. No more child abuse or spousal abuse. A city that is a light to our nation.
A city where people pioneer new inventions and businesses.
Weatherford, Oklahoma, the place of movement, transition, and cross over into dreams and goals.
What to Expect
No denominational boundaries.
No cultural boundaries.
Just those who love their city and desire to see transformation throughout Weatherford, OK, Western Oklahoma, and our beautiful state.
There will be strategic prayer each month that is aimed at the 7 Mountains of Culture that affect our city.
This will be planned out as a corporate prayer time.
You will not be asked to pray out loud.
You will not be asked to hold anyone’s hands.
You will be asked to be respectful of each person present.
You may bring a Bible and a notebook to write down and share with the prayer leader anything you hear Holy Spirit speaking.
Ages 12 and up as long as the child desires to come and pray. There will be no childcare available.
