Who’s really waiting?

Written: November 19, 2018

Have you ever had a promise from God yet wonder why you aren’t seeing it come to pass? I don’t know how many times I, myself, have said, “I’m just waiting on God to bring it to manifestation in my life.” Especially with healing or financial situations. Is this really Kingdom thinking?

If we are going to be a Kingdom-minded citizen, then we need to get a Kingdom understanding of the “waiting” period! Right?! The only way to get Kingdom perspective is by seeking Him FIRST!

Did you know before you were even born, God had already spoken your purpose, and He had already planned your destiny? Just as He told Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb, I KNEW you; before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Do you think Jeremiah was born and was immediately prophesying over nations? I highly doubt it. But let me tell you this… He wasn’t waiting on God to open the gift up in him in order to fulfill his purpose. God was waiting on HIM to grow into his purpose! To mature, to reach the place where he could walk in his calling! Just like us!

God plans from the ending and He already knows what He wants for us… but we have to seek Him, mature in Him, and say yes to Him each time He speaks in order to see the manifestation in our lives… in other words… God is waiting on us!

He is waiting! He sent the Holy Spirit to guide us and lead our footsteps through the power and knowledge of the Word of God, and we just have to be the willing vessels to surrender fully to Him. And that surrender comes through seeking Him continuously in constant communication with Him and being obedient even when He says “take a turn” that you won’t like.

So many times, we find ourselves kind of happy and ‘occasionally’ feeling fulfilled, but that’s because we aren’t living in the fullness of all He has for us! We aren’t abiding IN HIM in order to get clear direction. Actually, many times we are striving in our own efforts to get to a “destination” we believe to be our purpose, and we get totally out of sync with His heartbeat and off the created path for us. Anyone else out there guilty of that besides me?? Just curious.

God wants us living a life of joy and righteousness! God wants us living a life of ALWAYS feeling fulfilled IN HIM! This is His desire for each of us! He wants us living a KINGDOM life! Romans 14:17 even tells us “The kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy IN THE HOLY SPIRIT.” When we are allowing the Holy Spirit to come in and guide our soulish, fleshly self… we will love like no other, we will walk in righteousness, and we will live fulfilled and joyful! But it comes through seeking HIM FIRST!

God is waiting on you!

Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.” What things? Our purpose, our needs, all the things we “worry” about daily. Look at vs 30-32 “Now if God clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore, do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the world seeks. For your Father in Heaven KNOWS that you need all these things.” He’s telling us that as long as we seek Him, then everything else will fall into place... BUT, SEEK (fervently search for) the Kingdom of God (HIM – His character, all that He encompasses – found in The Word) and His righteousness, and all these things (purpose, cares, needs, etc) will be added (put into place) to you!

Friends, we aren’t waiting on Him to meet us… He’s waiting on us to figure it out!

Colossians 3:1-5, 10, 12-15 “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is (the KINGDOM), sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above (we are spiritual beings), not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God (we are one with Him). When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore, put to death what is earthly in you (get that soulish area under Holy Spirit surveillance) …and having put on a new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created you… Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you must do also. But above all these things... PUT ON LOVE, which is the bond of PERFECTION! And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called into ONE BODY; and be thankful...”

“Let steadfastness have its perfect work (its full effect), that you may be perfect (grown, mature) and complete (whole, entire), lacking (found wanting) nothing." James 1:4

When we seek Him first we grab ahold of His character which is God-LOVE (HIS love encompasses all His other attributes), we then begin to walk in the fruit of the Holy Spirit living IN OUR LIVES and as we allow Holy Spirit to guide our soul (intellect/will/emotions) into Kingdom maturity we will begin to find ourselves aligned properly with the heartbeat of God. In that alignment through prayer and continual seeking, we will walk in righteousness, peace, and joy, fulfilling our purpose on this earth in the way He created each of us to! Our purpose? His purpose! To disciple all nations until the cultures of the earth resemble the culture of heaven…. HIS KINGDOM COME, HIS WILL BE DONE on earth as it is in heaven!

But you’re not waiting on Him to bring to maturity His destiny for you, He’s already done His part… He’s waiting on you to seek Him!

I encourage you today to start seeking Him first! He said to seek Him, and you will find Him! When we seek Him, we find the secrets to our very reason for being, and in that, we manifest Him to this world. We walk Kingdom-minded, pulling the culture of heaven into the earthly realm! Again, being perfect in Him is being mature in the soulish area… letting go of the flesh and grasping ahold of the Holy Spirit and all He is in us!

“The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” Ps. 34:10

Father, I ask that you give each person reading this a hunger for You as they have never experienced. As each of us seeks You, we ask for clarity in our current season. Clarity as to what is coming next and clarity of our true relationship with You. Father, I know many of us seek You when we need You, but I ask that You reveal the motives of our hearts as we seek You. I choose to be a vessel that seeks You for You, not for what You may give me or do for me, but I want to fulfill my purpose on this earth, and I know that only comes through seeking You first. Father, I’m sorry for sitting around waiting on You when all this time You have been so patiently waiting on me to wake up! So, this day I say YES, and I choose to step into the fullness of who You are. I ask Holy Spirit to guide my every footstep, to help me to walk daily in Your love and Your character, and to keep my eyes focused on You, not the naysayers around me. Holy Spirit go into the inner depths of my soul and reveal any character flaws, unforgiveness, or bitterness that rooted itself so that I can hand it over, forgive, and walk in Your LOVE!! I love You, Father! In Jesus mighty name! Amen
